Does My Camper Need Spending Money On Trip Days?

Each year Oasis Summer Day Camp, with locations in Winnetka and Highland Park, creates an action packed calendar of events that is filled with trips, special performers, water parks, and endless amounts of smiles and laughter.  One look at our schedule and you will find that we are visiting all the Chicagoland summer hot spots!  Often parents wonder if they need to pack money with their child in order to maximize the fun.  Oasis provides a full day of entertainment and no extra money is required.  Now that does not mean campers leave their allowance or birthday money at home because some do not.  Dollars brought from home can be used if a camper would like to purchase extras.  Below we detail what might be bought during our three weekly trips and roughly how much spending money one might need.

Water Parks: with your tuition payment Oasis will provide admittance into the water park, passes to use water slides, lazy rivers, water playgrounds, life jackets, and a shady reserved picnic area for resting in the grass.  Some campers bring an additional $5 for a snack break at the concession stand.

Arcades: Oasis provides admittance into the facility, tokens to play video games, and passes to play laser tag, miniature golf, bumper cars, bumper boats, go-karts, and rides. Additionally, we reserve a private room or area in which to house our belongings and prizes and eat lunch.  Some campers bring $5-$10 for extra arcade tokens and a snack.

Museums/Farm/Skating Rink/Theatre/Bowling Alley: Oasis Day Camp pays the fee to enter the building or farm, lunch on select days, we secure rink or alley time and skates or shoes, or a farm guide and individual time with animals.  Some campers bring $5-$10 for souvenirs or a snack.

Your child will have a great time at Oasis Day Camp with or without extra money.  Each day is organized so that all campers are fully engaged, safe, happy, and learning something about themselves and their friends.  The option to bring money on trips is available and should be a topic of discussion at home before the start of the season.
